Lepidoptera: Hepialidae
Abantiades hyalinatus
About midnight, one night, I stopped on a forest track to watch a bandicoot beside the track ahead, and this huge Ghost Moth, attracted to light, flew into a headlamp on my vehicle.
The bandicoot disappeared and I turned my attention to the moth. It had dropped to the ground and was flapping around. After a little while it settling down, but didn't take to the air again and was still on the ground when I moved on.
